Similar to the rest of the other legendary heroes, Kizuna is also an otaku who mistakenly believed the world to be a game at first and then came to realize the truth later. She completely disapproved of the idea of killing another world's holy heroes for their own world's survival, and believes that the heroes are needed for some other reason. She also loves fishing, so much so that she often ignores completing her missions in order to fish.

Like the other heroes, Kizuna is from an alternate Japan. Not a gamer, she entered a VR Healing MMO called Second Life along with her sister(s). Then she woke up in the world that Glass is from. Just like the other heroes, she thought the world to be a game and all the introductions to be a tutorial. During her time in this world, a series of incidents convinced her that this was another reality and not a game.

Link is the main character and protagonist of the The Legend of Zelda series.[104][105][106][107][108][109] He has appeared across many incarnations throughout the series, usually depicted as an ordinary boy or young man who becomes a legendary hero by saving the world through feats of courage.[110] He is often the holder of the Triforce of Courage, a sign of his being chosen by the Golden Goddesses.[111][112] He is typically seen wielding a sword and shield, most often the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. Specific incarnations of Link may be distinguished by titles such as the Hero of Time in Ocarina of Time and the Hero of Winds in The Wind Waker. All incarnations of Link possess the spirit of the hero and are thereby destined to fight evil.[110][113][114]

In The Adventure of Link, set six years after The Legend of Zelda, the now-sixteen-year-old Link notices a strange mark on the back of his left hand, resembling the crest of Hyrule.[115] He seeks out Impa, who responds by taking Link to the North Castle, where a door has been magically sealed for generations. Impa places the back of Link's left hand on the door, and it opens, revealing a sleeping maiden inside. Impa tells Link that the maiden is the original Princess Zelda of Hyrule from long ago, and the origin of the "Legend of Zelda". Long ago, Zelda's brother, the Prince of Hyrule, had tried to force her into telling their recently deceased father's secrets concerning the last of the three golden treasures of his kingdom, the Triforce of Courage. Princess Zelda refused to reveal its location, and the Magician, who had accompanied the prince, tried to strike her down with a spell in anger. Zelda fell under a powerful sleeping spell, but the wizard was unable to control the wildly arcing magic and was killed by it. The prince, filled with remorse and unable to reverse the spell, had his sister placed in the castle tower, in the hope that she would one day be awakened. He decreed that princesses born to the royal family from that point on would be named Zelda, in remembrance of this tragedy. Impa says that the mark on Link's hand means that he is the hero chosen to awaken Zelda. She gives Link a chest containing six crystals and ancient writings that only a great future king of Hyrule can read. Link finds that he can read the document, even though he has never seen the language before; it indicates that the crystals must be set into statues within six palaces scattered all over Hyrule. This will open the way to the Great Palace, which contains the Triforce of Courage. Only the power of the combined Triforces can awaken the enchanted Zelda. Taking the crystals, Link sets out to restore them to their palaces. Meanwhile, although Link had defeated Ganon, the remnants of his army remain scattered across Hyrule.
